"Struggle makes you stronger"

Like to share a story. It has been circulating around for sometimes on the net and there is no way to trace the source of this story.

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day he saw a small opening in the cocoon. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and could go no further... so, the man decided to help the butterfly.He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.

The butterfly then emerged easily. But, it had a swollen body, and small shrivelled wings. He continued to watch the butterfly, because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shrivelled wings. It was never able to fly. What he had done in his well intentioned kindness and haste, he did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required to get through the tiny opening were God's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes, struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If God allowed us to go through our life without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as we could have been...... and we could never fly....... have a great day, a great life, and struggle a little... remember... God wants you to fly!

Chocolate Indulgence at Fullerton Hotel

This is definitely the most expensive buffet I have eaten for the past twenty over years. Just a chocolate spread cost me over $37 and how can I not take some photos for remembrance!

Look at the exquisite spread of buffet from chocolate mousse, chocolate tiramisu, chocolate fondue to different bitterness level of chocolate drink which is made on the spot when you order. This is definitely a heaven for chocolate lover like me. Take a look at the raspberry chocolate mousse with a sprinkle of gold above. Wow.....

Fondue with selection of mashmallow of different fruitty flavours, stick biscuit, strawberries and puffs which go heavenly with the chocolate dip.

Different type of chocolate arranged in ascending order of bitterness level. These are to be made into chocolate drink. Rich and Creamy .........Slurps..

A word of caution if going for this chocolate buffet. Skip dinner before going.

Shopping Spree at Kuala Lumpur

The next destination after Cameron was Kuala Lumpur and again, I had to endure a 4 hour travelling on a coach to the KL. This trip to KL was more of a shopping rendevous for my family. After checking into the hotel, we unloaded our belongings and dashed straight to the nearby Berjaya Times Square and neighbouring shopping complex to start our spree. I bought mainly books by Napoleon Hill and some postcards which are relatively cheap.

I have yet to read the books because I am half way done with the book on Dale Carnegie on How To Win Friends & Influence People. I bought the Unabriged Original Version which is not commonly found.

In KL, there were many interesting items which really captured my attention. Below are a few which I took it secretly without the shop attendant's notice.

This is actually a toothpick holder which is ingeniously made into a porcupine with holes around its body contour to hold toothpicks. A clever way of design and functional incoporation.

Where do you think this place is from the above pic? No! This is not a supermarket. These fruits and vegetables are actually miniature with size not bigger than 2 cm in length. It looks so real and fresh.

My trip to Cameron Highland

Finally after a hectic May of rushing through assignments and reports, I had a good break going for a short trip to our neighouring country, Malaysia. I set off last Saturday (9th June)night and I reached Cameron Highlands on 10 Jun morning and I was greeted by the scenic view and simple lifestyle of this 30,000 people population town while travelling along the way up to the hotel. The hotel was situated >5000m above sea level and it took the bus 1 hour plus to reach the hotel from the foot of Cameron.

We planned for only a night stay in Cameron and we had quite a packed program to stick to in Cameron. Upon arrival, we deposited our belongings in the hotel and began our day tour. We bought a tour package for the whole day and we were brought to the BOH tea plantation and the summit of Cameron for the morning package.

The afternoon trip was more of a agricultural tour where we were brought to their famous vegetable plantation, chrysanthemum nursery, popular strawberry farm and the exotic cactus farm. We tried their lovers fruits which always come in pair (that is the reason for its name), another fruit which taste like honeydew and their very popular and extremely sweet Jargon (i.e. corn). We ate it raw.

This ends the trip for the day and the next morning 11th Jun, we woke up in the wee hours to catch the sunrise. We were tired but excited along the 15 minutes ride up to the summit. It was pitch dark when we reached the summit which is >7000m above sea level and the temperature was freezingly cold but the tour guide said it was not the coldest that day. At around 7.02am, the sun rose from the horizon and the view was simply awesome. You can watch the video on the previous post. After capturing the sunrise, we rushed back to the hotel and had a quick breakfast before leaving for Kuala Lumpur.

I was away for holiday and one of my stop is Cameron Highland. It was awesome at Cameron Highland where I got to enjoy the scenic view of the country side and the sunrise at the summit of Cameron. Ok, enough on me. Sit back and enjoy the very moment which I have taken live on that day.

Same Company, Same Benefits, But Two Outcomes!

Jerry joins a network marketing company and says . . .

I've only got 4 hours to spare a week and if this business doesn't grow with that sort of time, you won't see me around here in a month. I can promise you that. They say anyone can make it happen, yeah right . . ."

Six months later . . .

Jerry is earning double from what he had promised on the first day, more than sufficient to cover his mortage and car loans. Everything finally comes to an end but I am still going on and on...

I have never felt so relieved for the past few weeks. It seems that all loads are off my shoulders at this moment. Assignments after assignments and nights of sleepless night trying to meet every datelines is finally over. I can finally enjoy a full 8 hours of sleep. Now, I can concentrate on my unfinished "assignment" of my own internet business. I am obligated to do it and I enjoy doing it so far. I have picked up and learnt many things relating to internet and network marketing. Learning is a life long and indefinite journey; there is no end to the learning journey. No one actually stops learning. It is only a matter of choice from yourself. You stop learning when you do not wish to pick up new knowledge any more. The reason is simple. You do not want to get out of the comfort zone which you are in for years. You are too comfortable with your current lifestyle and the fear of change outweighs any opportunity that is coming along with the change. In short, your fear of change has stopped your progression. You are forever stuck to the ground.

I see a lot of people with ample opportunities that come knocking at their door but they simply brushed it away. They have the opportunity to beccome successful but the pain and labour they are going to endure in the initital phase of the change outweighs the sweetness of the fruits they are harvesting in the future. It is a matter of choice and this flipping switch lies in the person himself/herself. A lot of things are beyond our control but we are fortunate to have full control over our mind. This is the greatest asset bestowed to us and yet, a lot of people are misusing it. Many choose to incline themselves over to negativity, fear, sceptism, suspicion rather than positivity, optimism, etc.

The Cold Hard Fact of Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is one of the easiest, fastest and effective way to make more residue income. In the recent years, we see many products online which create ample opportunities for affiliate marketers to pick on for their promotion list. My Last Day of Tuition

Today is my last day of tuition with two kids who are brothers. They are Secondary 1 and Primary 4 students, very well behaved and attentive during lessons. Though their results are mediocre, they are one of my best students which I have tutored over the years. Due to the coming hectic work schedule, I have no choice but to stop tutoring them. I have promised their mum that I would tutor them if there is a chance and I hope I could in the future. Though young at age, they are very warm hearted and the big brother would constantly ask if I wanted a refill of drink during the 2 hour 30 minutes lesson. This small gesture, though insignificant to most, impresses me a lot. How many kids nowadays would be so attentive and considerate? They gave me a handphone holder as a parting gift and I am really touched by the sentences that they wrote on the bookmark which was attached with the handphone holder. It says "Thank you teacher for your patience and kind teaching." A short sentence like this shows that the effort I put in from the past is all worthwhile.

Well, with no tuition at the moment, I can also allocate more time for my internet business.

Nothing can hold me back

I logged into my blog this morning and found that the 'Edit Post' interface is so what different from the past. All icons which were supposed to arrange horizontally are all aligned in a vertical fashion. I could not click on most of the icons and hence, I thought I was not able to publish my post. What really happen? I don't know but since it had happened, I guess I have to do something about it. I sent a problem encounterment to the blog support to look into this issue while I tried to post. Luckily, I still can edit post but I am not able to use the icons. Well, I guess I have to make do with it for the time being while waiting for their reply.

My design of Success

This is a pencil holder which I designed and materialised just not long ago in my design classes. I name this workpiece as my design of Success. This is a simple and yet functional piece of work.

To me, Success means simplicity. We live in a world of complexity where things can be made simple. Sometimes, things can be resolved simply but a twist in an event can complicate the whole process. Indeed, we have no control over the complexity of certain issues but we have ulitmate control over our mind.

Do you how fortunate you are?

I spent the whole morning and afternoon finishing up my assignment. It is contradicting that a self-proclaimed motivated individual has difficulty in writing a 2000 words essay on motivation. While I was racking my brain on my assignment, I was also surfing the net. Out of sudden, somtething flashed to my mind. I remember I attended a free seminar by Adam Khoo some months back and he mentioned a lady who had stroke in 2000 after conceived her third child. She lost her memory and ability to work. She brushed shoulder with god of death, went into desolation and depression. At the point of time, what she had gone through was something that we are not able to understand and feel. The state of helplessness and hopelessness she was in could mean an end for many people. With the support from her family and friends, her health blooms back to what she used to be before her stroke. To others, it may be a miracle but it is her determination to overcome the adversity, her strong desire and belief that she will recover plus the unconditional love, support and encouragement from her family that nurse her back to health. Coming to think of myself, I am so fortunate and yet I have been taking things which are unreachable to some for granted. Be contented with what you have now but constantly seek for improvements. The three essential factors to success

Yesterday, I attended Stephen Pierce 's training workshop in Singapore. I am truly intrigued by his inspiring and light-hearted talk throughout the 2 hours event. He mentioned about Success and how to achieve high degree of success for anyone. It can be attained by anyone anywhere as long as you posses these three traits. The first one is to focus on the right thing. Focusing is a high level control of mindstate and it is a skill which many are still lacking of. Most of us have a short span of focus and we easily lose focus to unpleasant events and failures. To make matter worse, some tend to focus on the wrong things leading to spiral of failures in the future. Therefore, focusing right is pertinent to one's success. Secondly, a successful individual is a consistent person. Consistency means doing the same thing repeatedly while producing the desirable and better result each time you perform the same act. However, doing the same thing over and over again without progress is undersirable and should be put to a halt. Again, you won't expect a person to achieve a firm toned body by visiting a gym once. Finally, we know that a patient person will reap his rewards one fine day if he is focused and consistent with the right task. Patience begets success.

Making choices in our life

Like it or not, we are always making choices in our life. In the past, I tend to pick on choices that are risk-free and easily achievable within my means. It aslo means that I will be forever stuck in the same position if I continue to remain status quo on the choices that I make. I began to realise that why some people are achieving success while I am not able to. Success people pick on challenging tasks while the mediocres settle on simple tasks. In order to succeed, I have to change my mindset on the selection of choices. I have made my choice not long ago to venture into a niche business which I was skeptical in the past. Skeptism came from the collation of negative feedbacks of others and unknowingly, I chose to be controlled by other people perceptions on this business. In fact, I had been dancing in tune with those who had not set foot into the business, applauding and believing in their unsubstantiated views. Now, I choose to master my own life and not let others control and influence me.

My First Hands On Workshop with my Success leaders and friends

Today is the first day of my Accelerated Hands On Workshop (AHOW) which is a one and half day event.The feeling is simply amazing and motivating to work with a group of like-minded individual. It is rare to see a group of people of different ethnicity, backgroud and age aligning themselves to a same goal. What really touches me is that every member never holds back in helping and encouraging one another. I can feel their sincerity and earnestness and I believe that is the reason of being such a cohesive team and it is getting stronger over the period. To me, this is also an incredible opportunity to network and learn from other members of Success University. Together with a team of hope and purpose, the beam of success is nowhere far from the horizon.

Create Your Own Luck And You Will Never Fail

Why is it that some people succeed at things while others fail?

Is there such a thing as creating your own luck?

The answer is quite simple, those who succeed chose to 'do something' and do it now rather than later.

For example, imagine that 100 people read the exact same book that I did. I benefited from what was written and implemented the information in it to my advantage. Yet the other 100 people managed to come up with 100 different reasons why the book either wouldn't work for them or how it didn't fit their situation. The point being, everyone has choices available to him or her. They can choose to make money or choose to make excuses, it's really as simple as that! People who make excuses just leave more opportunities open to those of us who do want to succeed. Those who don't sit idly by and use golden opportunities to their best advantage all have one thing in common, they just got started and don't make excuses about why they can't!

There are thousands of reasons why you can't make a start today. The timing may not be right or you may be too busy today to make a start. Most people who do succeed are usually at the busiest time of their lives, so the real question here is, are you too busy to make money? Or maybe your computer is too slow or needs updating? Possibly the software you are using isn't right to start your internet business? People like that keep telling themselves "once I get this new software or computer then I'll start.... " and go along on their merry way looking for even more plans. All the while they are waiting, they are letting golden opportunities pass them by. These people are never going to make money with that attitude because the time will never be right. So once again the real question here is when is the right time to start making money?

Others wait until every one around them is making money from working hard on a realistic plan, then call them 'lucky'? There is no such thing as being 'lucky' in this situation. We all make our own luck by taking an opportunity with both hands and 'doing something' with it! How many books have you read this year? How many ideas have you implemented from your newfound knowledge? Be truthful now! If you buy a book, make it your goal to implement at least one idea you have found.

Take some responsibility for yourself. If you don't 'do something' nobody will jump up and do it for you. By being responsible for your own success, you will find that your goals and ambitions aren't really that far from you. Ask someone who is successful and they will tell you the same thing because it's true. If you are having trouble being successful, be aware that you have the tools and opportunities. All that you need is to 'do something' about it. Create your own luck.
